Troubleshooting
Notifications aren't appearing
Getting focus and app notifications to show up on macOS.
Todebaran sends notifications for things like the end of a focus pomodoro phase. If they're not showing, macOS is usually the place to look.
Check macOS notification settings#
- Open System Settings → Notifications.
- Find Todebaran and make sure Allow notifications is on.
- Check that Focus (Do Not Disturb) isn't silencing them — a macOS Focus mode will hold notifications back.
Check the in-app toggles#
Pomodoro notifications have their own switches. In focus mode's settings, confirm Notify on work start and Notify on break start are on. Note that the plain Timer (as opposed to Pomodoro) counts up open-endedly and doesn't send an end notification — there's no end to announce.
A note for early/unsigned builds
macOS only delivers notifications from a properly signed app. The official builds are signed; a locally built or unsigned development copy may stay silent. If you're on a normal download from the site, this won't affect you.
Still stuck?#
- Restart the app after changing macOS notification settings.
- If it persists, contact support with your macOS version.
