Areas & shared spaces

The top level — how your projects and collections are grouped.

Areas are the top level of Todebaran's structure. An area is a broad part of your life or work — Work, Home, a side project — that holds projects and collections. Every personal project lives under some area.

Working with areas#

Todebaran starts with a default area (named Projects) — rename, reorder or delete it like any other.
Open the Area Manager with ⌘⇧A to add, rename and reorder areas.
Drag projects and collections between areas to reorganize.

Keep the top level small

A few broad areas beat a long list of narrow ones. Most people do well with three or four — Work, Home, and a project or two — and lean on projects and tags for the finer detail.

Shared spaces#

A shared space is the same idea as an area — a named box of projects — but with a sync scope, so the projects inside it sync to other people. Your personal projects (under your own areas) stay private; projects you file under a shared space are visible to everyone in it.
