Who makes it
Moonage, an independent studio.
No parent company, no board, and no support department: mail sent to info@todebaran.com is read and answered by the people who build the thing you are writing about. Who is liable for what, and where, is set out in the Terms and the Privacy Policy.
What pays for it
Pro, and nothing else.
No investors, no ads, nothing sold on the side, and no arrangement anywhere that turns what you write into somebody's dataset. That is the whole business model, and it is why the app answers to the people using it — they are the only ones paying for it. The pricing table spells out which plan is which.
Why the privacy claim is checkable
Because there is no server for your tasks to sit on.
The app runs offline and without an account, and sync — when you turn it on — goes through storage you already own: a shared folder, your own WebDAV server, or an S3-compatible bucket. AI runs on your own key, or on a model on your own machine. What is collected is listed in the Privacy Policy; where every byte lives is in the docs.

The machine-readable version of that is at /.well-known/security.txt. Reports are welcome about any of it — the credentials the app holds for your sync storage, the API key it holds for AI, or what a slip's blocks can reach when they run.
