The Todebaran vocabulary in one place.
A quick reference to the words Todebaran uses.
Area — A top-level grouping that holds projects and collections; a broad part of your life or work like Work or Home. See Areas & shared spaces.
Collection — A notes-style container for reference material, shown in a two-pane editor. Unlike a project, it isn't about a dated outcome. See Collections.
Countdown — A named marker counting down to a date, shown on Today. See Countdowns.
Daily note — A short, per-day journal entry attached to a date. See Daily notes.
Deadline — When a task is actually due. Independent of its start date. See Scheduling.
Day heading — A section like Morning or Afternoon within Today, Tomorrow or the Calendar day view.
Focus mode — A timer (or pomodoro) built into a task, which also tracks time spent on it. See Using focus mode.
Heading — A section inside a project that groups its tasks. See Projects.
Inbox — The catch-all for tasks with no schedule, project or collection.
Project — A group of tasks working toward an outcome. See Projects.
Recurrence — A rule that makes a task repeat. See Recurrence.
Shared space — A container of projects that syncs to other people, for planning together. See Shared spaces.
Slip — A reusable template built on a visual canvas; export it as an image, print it, or run it as an action. See Slips.
Smart list — A view whose contents are gathered automatically from rules. See Smart lists.
Someday — A parking place for tasks with no date yet.
Start date (the "when") — When you plan to work on a task; what files it into Today, Tomorrow or Upcoming.
Subtask — A lightweight checklist item inside a task.
Sync — Keeping devices in step through storage you control (a folder, WebDAV or S3). See Syncing across devices.
Tag — A label you can attach across projects to slice your work by theme. See Tags.
Task — A single thing to do; Todebaran's core building block. See Tasks.
